About Our Faculty

Our faculty was established with the protocol signed between Manavgat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Akdeniz University Rectorate on 20.03.2015. Based on the document numbered 23822 accepted by the General Assembly of the Council of Higher Education on 20.04.2016, it was decided to open a Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Undergraduate Program at Manavgat MATSO Tourism Faculty and to admit students in the 2016-2017 academic year.

Manavgat MATSO Tourism Faculty was established in Manavgat, which is located in the heart of tourism as an important district of Antalya province in terms of tourism.

There are 4 departments in total in our faculty. Gastronomy and Culinary Arts (formal and evening education), Tourism Guidance (formal and evening education), Recreation Management and Tourism Management departments provide undergraduate education. The duration of education is 4 years and a combination of theoretical and practical courses are given.

Our faculty has 19 academic staff and the total number of students is 1304.

Our students who will graduate from our faculty have the opportunity to do postgraduate studies in other universities and our faculty, to become educators or researchers, or administrators in institutions.

Our faculty has a total area of 25000 m2 with its classrooms and administrative building. There are 2 training kitchens, 2 practice areas, 10 classrooms, 2 lecture halls, 2 conference halls, 1 meeting room, 1 editorial office, 1 student affairs office, 1 computer laboratory, 1 canteen, 34 rooms for the faculty members, 1 dining hall, 1 library, 1 visual shooting studio.
